I feel like now a days society forces us to feel like we need to label ourselves in every aspect of our lives. We are labeled by our color, orientation, religion, and so on. I'm one of those people that say Why so many labels? But I do catch myself being a hypocrite from time to time lol ( I'm human). That leads me to my topic for today. Many that know me can tell you that it took me years and years to get my handicapped tag for my car and let me tell you, I'm so mad at myself for not doing it sooner. Having a handicapped tag seriously makes life so easy when shopping or going EVERYWHERE!!! ....Well until you need to go to a hospital or doctor's office where it's practically a handicapped gathering lol. Anyway, My handicapped has made me the strong woman I am today, and I have overcome so much with all of my surgeries and recoveries. So I wouldn't call it a "label", but I will embrace it and know that saying I have a handicapped isn't necessarily a label but an acknowledgment of the challenges I've faced with living with Arthritis. At least I can 99.9% of the time find awesome parking lol.
