I realized when going out with my boot on during recovery (yes that big non fashionable thing I wear every day that everyone stares at) that ALOT of people are not aware that an Ankle replacement is a thing!!!! When someone asks me about my ankles...Which is every day I enter the world, I respond that I had my ankle replaced. Everyone's answer is the same lol " Hmmm they have those", "I only know about the knee and hip" or my favorite...."So you're bionic" lol Now after going through this surgery I am going to need everyone to research and be aware of Ankle replacements. It's like getting an awesome award that no one even knows about lol. I plan on educating people that Arthritis doesn't have an age, race, color, or sex. I also want to give you a front-row seat to my journey through it all. Ankle Replacements are real lol They can be done and guess what? I need 2 of them, 1 down....1 more to go!! Follow my journey....... I promise you will laugh, cry and have a newfound respect for ankle replacements.
